What does the term “women’s wellness” mean to you?

Being able to talk openly about optimising our wellness journey. Statistics show that 85% of women never talk about their quality of life and levels of wellness. Focusing on women ageing well rather than looking at the aging process as a chronic disease pathway.

Why is advocating for women’s wellness and being vocal about treatments available important?

It’s important to raise awareness, you’re not alone! Creating open welcoming spaces to discuss gut health, skin health and intimate health, taking time for rest, recovery and maintenance of our health.

What treatments / services do you offer to enhance women’s wellness?

Here at Amanda Azzopardi Aesthetics we offer treatments to tighten and lift the face, sculpt and shape the body, regain energy, stamina and vitality to create true confidence from within empowering every women’s femininity.

What is your favourite treatment(s) to improve women’s quality of life and why?

One of my favourite treatments is intimate radio frequency combined with the pelvic floor tightening chair to improve urinary incontinence and sexual function, relieving dryness, itchiness and thinning skin to install a sense of confidence whether you are at the gym, at work or in the bedroom.

What are some of the most common women’s wellness issues patients come to you with?

Women suffer dry and dull skin, adult acne, vaginal dryness, loss of confidence regarding femininity, sexual embarrassment, discomfort whilst enjoying outdoor activities. Other concerns include facial volume loss, sagging features, reporting they look tired all the time, knowing the impact is far greater than just their physical and mental health. Learning from each other in time of declining hormones, increasing inflammation and reducing energy levels is so important, the pressure for women to perform is at a height, driven by societal demands with increasing work, social and family commitments.

Are there any misconceptions / taboos about women’s wellness issues or treatments that are available?

The taboo surrounding why women seek aesthetic treatments, is often focused more towards vanity and retaining their youthful features. Husbands fear the worst based on broad misconceptions of poor outcomes and media hype of misplaced dermal filler. More commonly, most women seek my assistance for subtle enhancements that simply refresh their confidence. The more we can collectively educate, the more we can normalise and celebrate aging well.

How can we, as women, practice better wellness at home? How can we look after ourselves physically and mentally? Do you have any advice, tips, hacks or pearls of wisdom to share?

Women’s Wellness at home should consider all physical, emotional and social aspects that alter a woman’s quality of life, such as her physical and hormonal issues, bone health, gastrointestinal stressors, urinary incontinence, and sexual health. Make time for yourself haircare, intimate health, skincare, vitamins and supplements, schedule regular time in your diary and educate yourself about your body.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

I encourage my clients to prioritise their health, improve their level of health awareness, it’s the consistent things that you do every day that make long-term improvement, simply incorporating healthy habits into your daily life is the best way to avoid disease, prolong life, and live a happier life.
